Integrate wearable and smartphone crash detection alerts into CAD to automatically notify dispatch when a user is involved in a potential accident.

This idea was inspired by feedback from Vanderbilt Life Flight following a recent aircraft accident, where a pilot’s Apple Watch crash detection feature triggered a 911 call before the communications center was notified. This highlighted an opportunity to enhance our CAD system by integrating similar crash detection capabilities from devices such as Apple Watches and smartphones.

The concept would involve enabling CAD to receive alerts when a user’s device detects a crash event, allowing for faster awareness and response from dispatch. This could improve response times in critical situations where the user may be unable to communicate manually. Expanding this functionality to both wearable devices and mobile phones would increase coverage and reliability.

Implementing this feature could significantly enhance safety for field personnel by providing an additional, automated layer of emergency notification.

    Andy,

Thank you for sharing this request, we appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback.

At this time, our primary focus for Dispatch Pro is on improving overall system stability, performance, and addressing our existing backlog of bugs. As a result, we are being very selective with adding new feature work to the roadmap.

We’ve captured your request in our Ideas Portal for future consideration as capacity allows. This helps us track demand and prioritize enhancements across our customer base.

If this functionality is a high priority for your team, we do have the option to scope it as a Statement of Work. This would allow us to define requirements, timeline, and associated development costs so you can determine if it aligns with your current priorities.

Please let me know how you’d like to proceed, and thank you again for your input.

    Best regards,
    Susan
