For busy ground EMS services, displaying both pickup and drop-off locations for every active request can quickly clutter the dispatch map. This makes it more difficult for dispatchers to quickly identify unit locations, active incidents, and other important operational information.
Provide dispatchers with the ability to independently turn the display of pickup locations and drop-off locations on or off from the map display.
Examples:
Show pickup locations only
Show drop-off locations only
Show both pickup and drop-off locations
Hide both when focusing on unit movement and asset management
This would function similarly to the existing map layer options (Assets, Routes, Requests, Weather, etc.), allowing each dispatcher to customize their own view without affecting other users.
Reduces map clutter during high call volumes.
Improves dispatcher situational awareness.
Makes it easier to identify available units and active responses.
Allows organizations to tailor the map to their operational workflow.
Especially valuable for busy ground EMS systems handling hundreds of transports and interfacility transfers each day.
Add separate checkboxes under the Requests section of the map layers:
☑ Pickup Locations
☑ Drop-Off Locations
These settings could be user-specific so each dispatcher can customize their preferred map view.
