Auto-Arrive Ground Assets at Scene and Facility Locations

What Problem Will This Feature Fix?

Dispatch Pro currently has an Auto arrive/depart assets from WOW satellite switch option that can assist with automatically updating arrival/departure statuses for air assets. IU Health would like similar functionality to be available for ground assets.

For ground operations, crews may arrive at a scene address or hospital but still need to manually update their status to show that they have arrived. During busy operations, this can result in delayed or missed status changes and inaccurate timestamps.

Story (Describe How This Feature Will Improve a Process Within Your Organization)

Provide an option for Dispatch Pro to automatically recognize when a ground asset has arrived at its assigned location based on the asset's GPS position.

Examples could include:

• Ground unit arrives at the scene address → automatically mark the unit Arrived Scene.

• Ground unit arrives at the receiving or sending hospital → automatically mark the unit Arrived Facility/Destination.

This could use a configurable geofence or distance around the assigned location to determine when the asset has arrived.

Ideally, this would be a configurable feature similar to the existing auto-arrive functionality so organizations could choose whether to enable it for their ground operations.

• Reduces manual status changes for crews and dispatchers.

• Provides more accurate arrival timestamps.

• Improves real-time unit status accuracy.

• Reduces missed status updates during busy operations.

• Extends existing auto-arrival concepts to ground EMS operations.
