Distinguish between a "followup" vs a full blown investigation.

The language used in AM for conducting any sort of follow-up activity is designated as "investigation". For most occurrences follow-up is conducted in my company and is tracked via the forum ie. conversations with the reporter, reviewing procedures etc. In some more serious events we launch a full blown investigation where an investigation report is produced. I would like to be able to distinguish between the two.
