Problem:
Operators flying in fire-affected regions cannot see active fire or smoke conditions inside Spidertracks and currently rely on external services during flight planning.
Desired outcome:
Pilots and dispatchers can view current fire and smoke conditions on the Spidertracks map alongside existing weather and terrain context.
Proposed change:
Add fire and smoke as selectable map layers in the web app, sourced from NASA FIRMS VIIRS hotspots via a proxy-cached overlay with hourly refresh. Layer is framed as situational-awareness only, not a tactical hazard product.
