Roster - Grey Day Compliance Notification/Validation

We have identified a system limitation where compliance with the Grey Day requirement can be inadvertently breached through Day of Operations roster changes, despite other fatigue and rest rules remaining compliant.

Proposed Enhancement

Introduce a configurable Grey Day Protection Rule that:

• Identifies when a Night Shift (LNO) requires a Grey Day recovery period.

• Protects the configured Grey Day window (e.g. 0600-1800).

• Reassesses compliance whenever Day of Operations roster changes are made.

• Generates warnings or breaches if duties are assigned during the protected Grey Day period.

Non-Compliant

• N → FERRY → GREY

• N → TRAINING → GREY

In these examples, the Grey Day remains on the roster, but the protected recovery period following the Night Shift has been interrupted.

This enhancement would help ensure Grey Day compliance is proactively monitored within the system, reducing reliance on manual Day of Operations reviews and preventing non-compliant roster changes from going unnoticed.
